GB Sciences announces initial harvest

GB Sciences, Inc. has processed its first harvest at its cultivation facility in Las Vegas. When fully operational, its cultivation facility will house 7,200 cannabis plants under 600 grow lights within 28,000 square feet. According to a May 15th press release, GB Sciences expects to generate approximately $10 million in annual revenue.

“I had the distinct honor and pleasure of personally making the first cuts from our first harvest last week,” said GB Sciences CEO John Poss in the release. “I was struck that in doing so I was not just cutting into a leaf or stem, but rather that I was cutting into the bias and blindness that has for so many years kept such an important palliative as cannabis away from the millions of patients who need it. We are the biopharma company of the future, because we are informed by science, but inspired by patients.”

Essence Vegas commemorates first year with donation to Veterans Village

In celebration of its first anniversary, cannabis dispensary Essence Vegas gave back to the nation’s military veterans. Using donations that were collected in its three locations during the last year, Essence Vegas presented a check of approximately $14,500 to Veterans Village Las Vegas, a transitional and permanent housing residence dedicated to help veterans in need get back on their feet.

“We are humbled and honored to accept this generous donation, which will help us fund our Veterans Village Emergency Housing and our 24/7/365 Crisis Intervention Center Fund,” said Arnold Stalk PhD, founder of Veterans Village, located at 1150 South Las Vegas Blvd. in Downtown Las Vegas.

“We’ve been fortunate enough to not only provide medicine for numerous patients who are veterans of the United States military, but to have several veterans in the Essence Vegas family. As a company, Essence does not accept tips; we accept donations for veterans. The individuals at Veterans Village have sacrificed so much for or freedoms and we’re honored we can help them get back on their feet,” said Armen Yemenidjian, CEO of Essence Vegas.
